He351w

Got one coming in the mail. It is supposed to be more like an HX35 than a HE351CW. 12cm gated exhaust housing and an early style compressor housing with an HE wheel. Couldn't find hardly any info on it other than it is from an industrial 6.7. It should be a much easier install than the CW because you don't have the clocking and waste gate actuator issues. Between this and a 4" exhaust, it should get my EGT down to a more manageable level.

Interesting! Please post a follow up after you get it installed and let us know how you like it, how the install went, etc.

I've got an older HX35/40 hybrid and I've been thinking about trying out a HE351CW, but sounds like this might be simpler.

Just received my HE351W....took it a part & verified everything. I like it & quality is bang on for a Genuine Holset. I’m going to be selling these turbo’s as it is going to be a winner for sure.
Here is the spec’s :
7 blade 58/85mm cast comp wheel
60/69mm exducer (std hx35 size)
12cm waste gated housing

As per Cougar & my post on another site here’s the differences between the 3 most popular turbo’s in the hp range.

The largest stock hx35 that I know of is a 54mm 8 blade.... and the upgraded performance PDR hybrid hx35/40 is a 8 blade 58mm...multiple sizes of non gated & waste gated exhaust housings from 10cm to 21cm are available & regular down pipe bolts right up.....

The standard HE351CW has a 60mm wheel with a 9cm exhaust housing with odd ball exhaust outlet size only....people find it a bit of a pain to have to change out/modify their existing down pipe to make the reg HE351CW work with their set-up & the compressor outlet needs to be addressed too...also no options for different simple/reasonable priced different housings sizes are not avail. Other down fall is having to deal with plugging the sensor port & also the waste gate. The 9cm housing as you have heard can/will hurt fuel mileage & will add to egt’s at a certain point.

The bonus of this HE351W is although the comp wheel size is the same as the performance PDR hx35 hybrid, this HE351W has a more aggressive 7 blade comp wheel. It will spool faster (7 blade vs 8 blade = lighter wheel) & flow more air = more hp & lower egt’s. And of course, will also have all the choices of the non gated & waste gated exhaust housings from 10cm to 21cm & regular down pipe bolts right up & so does the compressor out v-band too.

Nice to know, but I may have a problem. The ebay seller took my money and now won't communicate with me. May have to file a complaint and hope I get my money back.

WOW. Not good. Sorry to say but that’s the chances you take when you buy from Ebay. If seller isn’t responding, then for sure file a claim right away.
Who was the seller ? Let people know so they don’t have same problem.

Yep, scam. Fortunately ebay is refunding my money. The seller goes by the handle "andreelli9".
The search begins again.
