Hard brake pedal after high rpm on both trucks?

Hey guys,

Both the Utility truck and the Dually have new master/booster assemblies within a year or so. I've noticed that on BOTH of the truck, when I spin around in the snow a little drifting about and go to hit the brakes, the pedals are hard! I let off and hit it again and the brakes hit this time. I know that spinning around and going for the brakes is not common driving procedure (well, I'll speak for myself ), but this is a little concerning for something on my brakes failing down the road. Is this something wrong with my booster? Check valve??

power steering fluid topped off?

just thinking fluid could move to one side w/ g force causing it to suck air.

It might just be that the brakes are getting wet or snow packed then ok on the second hit?

ya, I have factory vacuum brake boosters now. Have not had a low vacuum light, but I 'spose I should check it still to narrow it down.

The brake pedal was rock hard and hardly did a thing. I could brake better when I had a bum booster! I just found it extremely bizarre that both trucks experienced it, and both just after just whipping around in my buddies driveway and again at the dump for a tight radius turn! However they returned quickly after that. No vacuum lights on when it happened either, I was looking for it.

Are you sure the light is functional? Maybe unplug the vac line from the sensor and see if the light comes on. But that still wont explain why it is happening to start with.

It was functioning just fine when the booster went last year in the Utility truck at least. I'll hook a gauge to them hopefully tomorrow.

Make sure engine rpm is around 700make sure you have no vacumn leaks. Hook up vac guage and check for vac leakdown on gauge with engine not running.
