H&R seizure.
H&R seizure.
We got to hook today. Didn't get too far, the 14mm h&r seized. Had been running fine all day. Trying to leave at 3700 rpm did it in though. Just didn't feel like it was fueling right.
Not sure why it seized. I bought it from a member on here(not KTA), it appeared to be brand new. We did have a issue with the control collar, but got that worked out. It ran awesome for 200 miles. Should have stayed on the street.
Here's the hook:

bummer!!! sorry to hear that curt. are you going to look for another 14mm head and rotor from kta this time? what happened when it seized? did it die immediately or did it sound like a powerjoke when it disintegrated?
The plan is, we don't have one.
Probably throw a 12mm pump back on it so it runs. There are 2 hooks left this year. Never got to run the 12mm with the timing jumped up, might try that if there is time.
It just died. Sounded like one big bark when the pressure came back out the intake. Several people said I blew a boot, no such luck. When I clutched it, the motor was still spinning with NO fuel, that sounded weird.
I was hoping to shred the HG or D70 before the new parts though.

This is kind of unrelated to you but, I read how the 14mm versions are not the most reliable for DD use, how they need a large constant flow of fuel to keep cool, blah, blah ... 12 mm is stock... so why not compromise and make a 13 mm version?

I just wish we had driven it further, but we wanted to save it for the track.

We probably will end up p-pumping it at some point. I really don't want to ditch the VE just yet, but not sure how much more $ to stick in one.
The Head it's not a dumb question. You may get some crazy answers. At this point no one is making a 13mm H&R. I've thought of the same thing. The young guy durajunkkiller is running a 14mm with alot of street miles on it with no adverse problems yet. My 14mm H&R is like wannadiesels on the shelf but mine is assembled and ready to go. For some reason they never break up on the shelf. If a 12mm is great and a 14mm is iffy why not do a 13mm. Good luck getting a good answer.
