Magnum Salvage,

I am in the same boat you are at this time. I own a 93' and looking at what options I have for gauges and pods. I really like the dual A pillar setup (only wish they would make a 3 pod A pillar). I also like the column mounted pod too. I've seen a few 1st gens running around with a gauge pod "box" mounted on top of the dash board. Who makes these? Are they discontinued for the 1st gens now?
Lastly, I would like to see pictures posted of someone that made a 3 pod A pillar out of a 2 pod and a single pod.

Also keep in mind if you do not have a tilt column the 2nd gen column mount will not work, this is an issue for me unfortunately.

There's a pipe plug in the side of the head just below the intake elbow. Remove that and thread the boost fitting in there. It's 1/8" NPT.

My understanding of leper's post is that he had to remove one of the studs from the back of the gauge. They aren't used to mount the gauges in the Autometer pods, so it's not a big deal.

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on the computer much. I removed one mounting stud from the tach. It stuck out so far that it hit the inside of the pod.

I don't know if the 3 gauge pod is still availiable for our trucks, but I know the 4 gauge one is discontinued. After months of leaving messages, PDR finally called me back to tell me this. I hope I don't have to deal with them for anything in the future, worst customer service I have ever had.

I now have the 94+ 3 gauge pod in my truck. I reshaped the bottom to fit my dash better. I would have taken more time on it, but I had the other one on order and did a quick job of it.

The stud on the tach couldn't be there for the 3 gauge pod either.

The 94 single colum pod works with our trucks. The dual one does not.

There is a plug under the intake "mouth" that you can remove to install the 1/8" sender for the boost. Takes 30 seconds to do.

Thanks, Leper and everyone else that contributed to this posts. Where does the tachometer hook up to on our trucks? I have hooked tachs to gas motors before but not diesel's. What tachs have you guys used or had good luck with?

I have an Autometer alternator tach. It has a probe that clamps to the alternator. The '92 and '93 trucks have a tach plug, Isspro makes a tach that plugs into it. Some guys have had good success with cheap gasser tachs set on 4 cylinders.
