Gov spring

This is probably a stupod question but I just want to make sure. I am putting a 3200 gov spring in my first gen, Its a 5 speed manual, does this mean I should shift higher?

Good morning and welcome to the forum Cody, no there is no need to shift any different. What it will help you with is when you are pulling a trailer you can get a little more rpm for your 2-3 and 3-4 shift so it wont lug as bad, of course there is the added benefit of being able to smoke your buddies rice grinder

Depending on your other mods, you will notice the extra RPM. Make sure you have enough fuel and air to take advantage of the extra RPM.

You'll know when to shift by ear.
