Got the HE351VE on

Got the HE351VE on the truck today and made some test runs in the full open position, the roads were wet so at a 50 mph roll when the boost came up at 60 mph it broke the tires loss spinning. max boost was 32 psi and the drive was 45 psi, EGT's never got over 1600*. With the baby H1C max boost was 23 psi drive was 40 psi and the EGT's would go well over 1800*.In the full closed position at an idle the drive will go to 15 psi and sounds like a jet taking off.
Here are some pics and videos of the new turbo

What is the purpose of the connector between the turbo and the manifold?

so he didn't have to reclock the turbo for the oil lines to be straight up and down and the charge pipe where it needs to be. good idea

The purpose for the connector is because the HE351VE has a WGMT Flange not a T3 flange like the manifold

Drive pressure is the pressure in the exhaust manifold

Its about time someone put one of these on. Are you going to leave it manual where you like it best or control it with a wastegate actuator?

The ve is variable on the exhaust side.

Very cool!

I have been trying to figure out a way to use this turbo. It seems you can get them pretty cheap.

The exhaust brake function is the only time the turbo is all the way shut correct?

Do you think that perhaps just finding one setting for 99% of the time will be good enough. Something equal to having a 14-16cm housing perhaps?

I think the only real thing to worry about is over speeding the turbo correct?

I would have thought that someone would have come out with a stand alone controller for these things already....

keep up the good work. I might need to pick one of these up too!
