it has a hump over the axle from the front it starts flat then curves up then flat again

Just like mine. I always wondered how the B&W would fit with that rise in the frame there. I figured it would need a completely flat surface to mount correctly. Do you happen to have any more pictures of the hitch installed on the truck?

It fits on the hump, the plate is "L" shaped with a dropped leg at the front. When it sits on the hump it's level

I've got a 1/2" drill. So you're saying start with like a 1/4" bit and keep drilling bigger holes until you get to the right size? Never thought about that.

i drilled a 5/16 or 3/8s hole then just stepped up to the 11/16 or 3/4 bit
