My brother-in-law has 5 1st gen dodge cummins all with getrag 5 speeds. He uses them in the woods in his logging operation. He's rebuilt a few trannys but now says he cannot get parts anymore. Can this be true? Anyone know of a source for rebuild kits or parts for this tranny?

You can also try these guys http://www.zbag.com/, I have read on forums of other guys who have bought parts from them and been happy. I have purchased a few items from www.Quad4x4.com and have been happy with the experience. Their parts page for Getrag's is under construction, but if you give them a call they'll probably be able to get you set up.
