I was reading this thread again and I should clarify what I had said earlier. When I said your mainshaft bearings were probably fine I was referring to the needle bearings that are on the main shaft not the tapered ones that the shaft turns on.

 

Yup, needle bearings were in great shape.

 

All back together and test drive went well.

Time will tell how it holds up.
