getrag case woes
 

well guys 4 weeks after the trans was pulled out i finally disassembled it tonight and was prepared to put the internals in the case i bought 3 weeks ago...because of mine cracking..only to find out its a diff case... evidently there is an early and a late case..the idler gear shaft being the difference..the case i broke has two ears for the shaft to go through and the one i got to use has only one ear..what luck... so can anyone tell me if i have the early or late case?...so i can start looking again...thanks

Did you check the classifieds. There was a getrag in there for a reasonable price a few days ago.

what is a reasonable price ?

$500 I think. Its reasonable to me because it's in the same state and the usual asking price around here is 1500-2000 for a total pos getrag.

thanks for the help guys looking at the numbers on the cases tonight it would appear that my case is the later case and the one i bought is an earlier version...pass this on for future builders
