Gauges, wiring newbie... need help!

Installing 2 gauges right now, a pyro and a boost gauge. Unfortunately, I know nothing about wiring at all. I've read the directions for the pyro and boost. On the pyro, I need a 12v switched wire and a wire for the light. On the boost I only need to find the wire to hook the light up to. Which one can I use for the light and for the switched 12V for the pyro? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am horrible at wiring.

Another thing. It looks like most people run their boost tube at the boost fitting right under the intake. My old boost gauge hooked up to a line that was at the top of the pump and lead to the head, about level with the boost fitting most people use. Would this be ok to use too?

The easiest place to pick up power for the lights is off the radio illumination wire. If you pull down the ashtray it's pretty easy to get at. It's orange with a white stripe. For 12 volts, get a fuse tap and put it under the power window fuse.

The boost gauge will be fine where you have it.

Thanks wanna diesel.

As for the light switch, my radio only works half the time. Anywhere else good to put it?

A fuse tap under fuse 14 will work fine too.

Got them in. Sure is nice to have decent gauges.

Anyway, with the mods in my sig I'm getting about 35 PSI and I can't even break 1000 on the pyro (it is pre turbo in the manifold). I don't have my 3200 spring in just yet, but I was expecting higher. Is it possible to install these wrong? At WOT there is a dark haze behind me.

Edit: maybe this is just because I am used to a 12cm housing. That thing would spool so fast and so hard, it was nuts. I'll see how the boost and EGTs go with the 3200 spring. Still need to advance the pump too, dang tool won't come in the mail fast enough .

Sounds like you just need more fuel.

Under the fuse? Gotta get mine fixed. Pyro isn't connected cause it was live all the time and wearing batt down.

Yeah, use a fuse tap, you can get 'em from Radio Shack. Put it under the protected side of the fuse. Pull the fuse and use a test light or a voltmeter to see which side has power, then put the fuse tap on the other side so current has to flow through the fuse.

I use the power window fuse to power the pyro because it's off except when the key is on. Fuse 14 is only live when the headlight switch is pulled, and the voltage varies with the dimmer.
