fuel shutoff solenoid top broke off
fuel shutoff solenoid top broke off
So on the way back from a parts run for my jeep and the dodge I pull up to a stop light. Truck DIES. Cranks, no fire.
Determine the fuel shutoff solenoid is the culprit. The top of the actual solenoid broke off (the plastic part with the spade terminal).
So fuel gushes out of the top of solenoid when it fires up.
My question is how should I plug up the solenoid? What is the plug made of? If it's steel I can just weld up the two holes.
I saw in Ace's thread how he plugged up the bottom of the solenoid. I could do that, but welding it would be easier for me, depending on the metal of the plug. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...light=solenoid
Thanks guys

I might, I was trying to fix it tonight because it's still where it broke down (haven't had it towed yet). I'll make some calls tomorrow morning.
I just need the one for a vw jetta diesel correct?

Chason Diesel in Garner ended up having one(Delphi ~38 dollars with tax), so I went and picked it up today and i'm good to go. Converted to the ring terminal instead of the spade on top of the solenoid also.
I can't say enough good things about Chason, Kevin is a stand up guy and I'd recommend them to anyone.
