It's on the front. It two wires going to it in a plastic sleeve. It's on the top of the crank pully where the fan belt go's.

Okay, I found it. It was just different from what i was think it would be. I thought it was inside the engine or something. But it just sits on the crank pulley?

Jimbo, you're a very good man, one of a rare breed. You salvaged this thread for newbies like me, haven't we all been newbies at one time.

Anyway to the OP (that's Original Poster), the reason you need to use a punch or whatever for the idle screw is it's impossible to use a wrench in there, unless your engine is out of the truck, and even then you have to use some tricks.

Also, if you'll be keeping your truck long and working on it, invest $30 in a FSM(that's Factory Service Manual).

Your truck also came with a 4-wire plug under the dash for the tach. I don't know if your tach is OEM or aftermarket or the plug is being used. If it's OEM chances are that it is plugged in under the dash. What kind of tach do you have?

It kind of looks like the wires coming from the tach either run through the fuse box under the dash or are grounded. I don't see a plug that they would plug in to

How easy would it be for both of you to simply ignore any new posts in this thread? Very! I'm sure a lot of other members have bit there tongue and either left to view another thread or didn't even open this one. Try it sometime. You might notice a decrease in your level of "frustration." I'm sick of reading negative replies.

Yes,you need the gap to be set correctly. Too much gap and the pick-up will not read the position.

Also, thanks jimbo
