When you say the "3-wire plug", is it under the dash or under the hood?

ok, I think all the connections are good. I think I just need to replace the Magnets or whatever sensor is on the engine. How do I go about getting to that and replacing it?

okay, I can't find the 3 wire plug but all the wires that come off the tach seem to attach to somewhere. I think it's just the magnet pick ups

.049" gap (plus or minus a couple thou) should be between the sensor and the pulley... might want to check your if its not working.
