You got a simple answer... eventually from those of us who understand. There was no reason to catch the flak that you did. Carry on... You didn't answer my question . What year is the truck and what have you done to it so far?

There some of us that don't know much to begin with. Like I'm not a mechanic of any sort and I've never really worked on my before.
I know the basics of how things work and stuff. I've read the sticky a lot. I've read everything to do with the motor drive train performance over and over.
For me I still don't completely understand half the stuff I've read. But its coming.

Stupid questions for you guys that know this stuff better then the back of your hand are questions that guys like me are just havin trouble understanding.

Everything is a little difficult to understand when you are trying to read and understand it via pictures and text on the 'net vs having a buddy there with you on the truck pointing at things ...

A lot of the descriptions and write-ups are excellent on this site and if you take your time - and work through the problems there's a ton of useful info ...

I don't believe my conversion would have happend if it wasn't for DTR.

Took me a while to figure out what the sticky was too, but I found it. Now if I could just learn to type with two fingers instead of one!!!

Where are you located Farmboy12357 ?
Not ALL us Canadians are as bad as one of the previous posters. MOST guys (and gals) here are pretty decent......even ones with less than 86 posts.
Don't hesitate to ask your questions, just some of the replies should be ignored.
I'm on my 4th Cummins and still don't know it all nor do I attest to.
I'm on here a fair bit and have a lot of great advice and have even managed to answer a few question.

I live in Idaho. Thanks, yeah I'll try to do a little research before I ask questions. I wish I would have known about the sticky before i asked because it did help. Thanks. my other question is on the tachometer. I want a picture or something of where the sensor is because I can't seem to find it and I dont really know what im looking for. I just know where to look is all

The sensor I believe is run through the PCM but I could be wrong.
There is a 3 wire plug that is usually on the l/h side of the steering column.
I have an aftermarket tach and used the factory plug for it's light wire. And another wire that I don't remember-maybe the ground side.....it's been a while since I've been under the dash.

Where abouts in Idaho?
