Fuel Problems
Fuel Problems
After replacing the head gasket on my 93 Dodge 12V, I can't get any fuel out of the bleeder nut on the banjo bolt attaching the injection pump supply line to the filter housing. My first attempt was to reuse the still good filter & condensate bleed valve I had taken off. But when I manually pumped the fuel pump, once the filter filled fuel began dumping out of the condensate drain valve port. I checked the O-ring & filter gaskets & even removed the bleed screw. But every stroke of the priming lever pushed fuel out of the condensate drain.
Thinking that maybe the O-ring on the condensated drain was bad, I swapped that filter & condensate valve with the one on my other 93 Dodge 12V. However that one did the same thing, & the one I thought was faulty worked fine on that truck. Thinking that maybe I had an obstruction in one of the ports, I removed the filter & blew compressed air into the bleed screw port. Air came out the threaded nipple that the filter screws onto, & when I blew air into the threaded nipple end, air came out the bleed screw. But when I put the filter back on & try to prime the line, once the filter fills fuel dumps out of the condensate drain on each priming lever stroke, but not a drop comes out the bleed screw. Didn't think it mattered, but I hooked all the electrical connections to the fuel heater above the fuel filter, & condensated drain but still not luck. It acts like the fuel heater is keeping the fuel from passing through & out the fuel supply port & bleed screw.
What am I missing?
