Fuel lubricity and additives
Fuel lubricity and additives
Ok so I will admit I have not been doing anything to my fuel to aid in lubricating my injection system. I have been doing some reading on here and couple other places the past few weeks to try and find the best additive for me. Have thought about adding WMO since I get 3 gallons of it for free every oil change or trying to find bulk 2 stroke oil instead of the little bottles at the store. In my research last night I ran across this info and thought some may find it helpful. It may have already been posted on here, but I could not find it.

I have a biodiesel station within 5 miles of my house, so I am going to start adding at least the 50:1 ratio as it helped the most of all the additives by far, and its about the same price as regular diesel here. I will probably just fill up a 5 gallon jug and bring it home and measure out how much I need per tank and always keep some in my box for road trips. Does anyone know what kind of shelf life biodiesel has? Like if went and got 10 gallons of it, would it go bad over time or does it keep well? I use fuel fairly fast, about a tank a week.

I checked the walmarts near me and all I found was the little bitty bottles. Then I went to a marine shop and they would sell it by the 55 gal drum but not smaller..... What ratio do you run your 2 stoke oil at Wanna?
Yup looked all through the automotive section. The walmarts near me have a small automotive section. Probably so you will use the service center and let them do the work..... What gives biodiesel the lubricity properties it has? Is it from the base substance its made of or some of the additives they put in it during the brewing process?
From my understanding it's from the base oil used, ie soybean oil, corn oil, peanut oil, guar oil, ect. I read the test you posted and was pretty informative, pape cat posted one very similar or might have been that one. Wish we still had 70s diesel.
