Ford wheels

I think I have read where 8 bolt Ford wheels will fit the 92 d250 I have. When I purchased this truck it had no spare and am going to use it this winter so would feel a little better if there was one in the back. There isnt any second gen Dodges in the auto wreckers around here but lots of 250 Fords. So can someone tell me if they will cross over and what year please??

IIRC, the Fords through '96 had the same bolt pattern and hub holes as our Dodges.

Ford, Chevy, GMC, and Dodge all used to use an 8x6.5 bolt pattern. After 96 when Ford went to the Super Dutys they went with a metric pattern. So you have a lot of options. What size rims do you have now? I went with a Chevy rim for my spare because it was an easy 16.5 to find.

Ford and Dodge wheels will fit Ford, Dodge, and Chevy.

Chevy wheels will not fit over the axle of Dodge or Ford.

The center-hole in a Chevy wheel is too small; although, the bolt-patterns are the same.

Late seventies/ early eighties, Ford had some really thick, strong, bullet-proof wheels that are way better than anything else out there.

They are getting hard to find, now.

It was actually '99 when they changed the hole pattern to metric.
