Rear drum backing plates. Is there a gskt?

Rear drum backing plates. Is there a gskt?

I was going to pull them and get them powder coated and I'm not finding a gasket??

if you know it's existance, and even a felt pro #, it would be great!

Not that I know of. There's nothing to seal in or out. I've never seen a gasket on any drum brakes. Just a seal on the axle.

Gaskets

I just rebuilt a 79 Dana 60 gaskets were present . I think replacements were from a Mopar with 8 3/4 diff . I can't remember , but they are out there

No gaskets on the Dana 70s I have rebuilt. There is no fluid present there, not sure why you would need a gasket.

8.75 gaskets are not going to fit on that 70. The 60 you did must have had flanged axles like from a passenger car, not full floaters. In that case yeah the housing ends are the same for the 8.75 and 60.

Mines a D250, Dana 70u? I think I found a gasket diagram which shows a 2.875.. innet diameter which matches the axle seals.
