First gen on a 2004 frame questions

First off not sure if this is in the right section, if not please move to the correct one.

I have a chance to get a 04 diesel reg cab rolling chassis with front and rear diffs, exhaust, fuel tank, steering box, hydro boost and wheels. I have a 95 p-pump 12 valve with a nv4500 and transfer case, what are some of the worst problems that you all foresee me encountering installing that and a 91 reg cab diesel body, I would really like to have the ride comfort of the newer suspension on one of my first gens. I know I will have to fab new mounts for the body, just not sure if the existing motor and tranny mounts are too far back? Anyway just something I would like to try but would like to hear comments both for and against this swap and anything else you think I might encounter that would make this a go or no go swap

I ran into a guy years ago who had put a 84 crewcab on his 3rd Gen frame.....from what I can remember it needed a whole new firewall and floor boards to clear things properly, not sure if that was due to clearance issues, or maybe rust in the cab and that was his way of fixing things?

I think you will have to either use a 1st gen rad support or perhaps heavily modify a 2nd or 3rd gen unit to work with fenders and hood. Intercooler....not sure what will work that will depend on what rad support you end up using. Inner fenders will need to modified to clear the new front suspension geometry. Going to be a LH drop on the transfer case to match the front diff?

Thanks TC, good point on the firewall, I hope it doesn't require changing the firewall but as far back as those engines sit in the 3rd gen frames it may, and yes I will use the t-case that's on the NV 4500 so it will be a LH drop. I was planning on using the entire front end (core support, inner fenders, radiator and a/c condenser) wasn't sure on which inter-cooler, hadn't thought about the inner fenders not clearing the new suspension, I don't want this to be a major job. that said bring on some more ideas showing me that maybe I had to many wobbly pops when I thought about doing this

firewall and floor clearance probably depends a lot on how high in the frame the motor and tranny sit in a 3rd Gen frame, because that 2nd Gen motor and tranny in a 1st Gen frame will clear things no problem.

The wife has a 06 but hers is a 4 door short box, should still be able to scope out how much further back the motor sits in the frame, the frame I'm looking at is a 04 reg cab
