My guess is alternator gone bad. Most makes of vehicle, when the alternator goes bad, the dash gauges will act silly, hence the click-and-no-start situation. |

If the back side is all bubbly, you have found your probem......and there cheap! When you remove the conector you can ground the top left pin(as it is conected or facing the regulator) momentaroly, (i think it is a blue wire) to see if the alt charges! NOTE: you should turn your head lights on before you try this cus it will tell the alt to go to full charge! Hard on the alternator and the battary. :o |
Oil pressure sensor and starter contacts. Get a new sensor from Dodge and a set of starter contacts from http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm

I rebuild starters, and alternators, nine times out of ten,if your dennso starter acts up,it's the solinoid contacs, otherwise they are nearly indestructible. One thing you want to do is get the highest amp battery, you can get to run them. A battery that is to small,or not holding a full charge, will shorten the life span quite a bit,or if possible put two batteries in your truck.

(Warning Thread Hijack! [duhhh] ) I've noticed the newer trucks come from the factory with dual batteries and been wondering about that. What's rationale there? Why might that be a worthy mod to a 1st gen, other than the extra capacity/backup?
