fast blinkers//trailer lights
When I got the 89 I hooked up some lights, and the blinkers were super fast then,, I soon found that the harness was a birdsnest and removed it,,, Installed a new plug and play harness,, Everything works 100% till I plug in a trailer, Tried 3 different ones, and all 3 times, My blinkers are double time,, How does one correct this in an 89,,, Bought the truck 2 years ago.

You did not mention what kind of a Flasher you have, but you need to get an Electronic or Electro-Mechanical type.
The flash rate is set at an electronically controlled constant and is not controlled by the resistance as in a Thermal type of a flasher.

Flasher is the stock unit or whatever was in there when I bought the truck.
Is there something I should look for at the local advanced Auto?
Or will I have to buy this somewhere else like napa, And What should I be asking for???
Thank you! Need to get resolved asap.

Check previous post from January 2007 titled "Trailer wiring - fast! blinkers" A part number is provided in the post. I simply went to NAPA and requested "an electronic blinker module." It cured the exact same problem you're having.
Sorry I'm ignorant about how to include a direct link to this post.

On my '03 Ram, the flasher SOUNDS like it's an old-fashioned kind, and it goes faster if one of the turn signals on the truck is out, but the trailer has no effect on it one way or another. I don't get it.
