Fast Access Oil Drain Plug ???
Fast Access Oil Drain Plug ???
Has anyone had any experience with this:
FRAM SURE DRAIN
Fast Access Oil Drain Plug
Starts the flow of oil with a turn of the wrist. $13.
It has a fitting that a water hose will screw to.
Will this work, or will it drain my oil out going down the road??
I saw some really good looking tool-less drain plugs at the trucking show; but, I can't remember the brand and didn't have enough sense to get one then.

I wouldn't use anything that extends higher into the pan than the bottom of the pan. It's gonna act like a dam and build up sludge. I'd also worry about anything sticking out the bottom too far. It's crying to get yanked out by something, especially brass.
Genos garage has a few similiar plugs for sale. My opinion is to avoid them. As redleg said, it will build up some sludge in the bottom of the pan because of the "lip" caused by the longer threads, and I KNOW if it was on my truck the first time I drove onto a jobsite, I'd drive over something that would reach out and grab it. The oil changes on these trucks are pretty easy, a 5 gallon bucket fits under the oil pan, so you shouldnt need a hose attachment.
There is a good one out there, give it a look, no levers and its stainless.

i would use one, we have over 2000 county vechiles with them
never have we lost the oil out of them . it has a cap that
screws over the hose fitting so if the check valve did go bad
the cap would stop leakage, it is clean and easy plus its easy to stop
if your container gets full or you have a problem .
i dont know the brand but they are brass
we run them on engine and transmission
