I've been hearing a rattle & roar for a while, one in addition to these truck's normal noises. But my old ears (too many tractor, chainsaw and gun hours with no hearing protection) couldn't track it down, even with a stethoscope (piece of hose). Got really bad lately and finally noticed some play in the fan bearing. Got one from Geno's.

But doesn't explain how to remove and replace.

How do you guys do it? I rummaged through the scrap pile and found some old Toyota brake shoes that fit between the bearing and hub to use as a base to press it out but I was scratching my head for a while until I stumbled upon that.

Also, there is no shoulder to bottom the bearing. I just pressed it flush. Hope that is good enough to keep the belt straight?

The FSM gives the torque value for the hub shaft nut but nothing else. Anybody have those?

I did a couple a few years ago....I too scratched my head to figure out how to get the bearing out and then the center hub out of the bearing.
