Factory Service manual

Where is the best place to get one for a 1993 CTD? And what do I need? Is there a suplement manual for the CTD? I'll be picking up my truck this weekend and figure I would ask so i can get the ball rolling on finding one. I know years ago when my family bought a new caravan we asked if they could get the service manual for it and they did. Can the dealer get one?

You can get a copy of the FSM at Geno's for $89 ~ http://www.genosgarage.com/CoastalDa...D=1823&CATID=1

Chrysler wants $127

Then look on Ebay for a Cummins "Shop Manual B Series Engines". (Be sure it includes your year). That will cover the long block. (NOT the "Operation and Maintenance Manual" although it is informative and a good deal for $15).

Hope this helps.

Chrysler doesn't sell them anymore. They ran out, so that means you'll be buying a used one. I don't think the geno's one is an original print by chrysler (or whoever printed for them), but a photo copy or one printed from a cd. I could be wrong on that though, but i would check before buying one.
I bought mine off of ebay and it was a pretty rare find. Expect to pay about 60-90 bux for a used one on there and there will be lots of competition as the 93 includes a how to rebuild on a certain transmission that none of the other books cover.
It does cover some of the cummins engine, but it's not a very long section.

As per Nick at Daimler Chrysler Techauthority (1-800-890-4038) five minutes before this post, the "1993 Truck & 150-350 S/M" is still available via their archives (you may have to wait a week while they print it). Part number: 813703108 ~ $125 + S/H. (I'm looking at the packing slip for the copy I got one month ago today).

Nick said "It doesn't look like it's going any where any time soon."

I'm told by many members here, who've purchased the book from Geno's, it's the same animal. All eight pounds of it.

Hope this helps.

So the one from chrysler sounds like it's a reprint then and comes to you in a binder. I know nissan is doing this for a handfull of vehicles.
What about the one from genos? Kinda sounds like the same thing. If not, then that price is a great price for a brand new book that has been professionally printed and bound.

It's my understanding that in both cases, the literature is loose-leaf, 3-ring binder format. (It's what I've got).

The one I got from Geno's seems like the real deal, it is bound together although I don't know how well it will hold together. I"m thinking it might not be a bad idea to try and put it into a 3 ring binder. I don't know how to get holes through all that paper at once though!!

The FSM had all the information I needed to put new rod and main bearings in. So I don't know what extra information the Cummins supplement would have that the FSM doesn't.
