Factory power mirror questions
Factory power mirror questions
I am looking to put a set of stock factory power mirrors back on my truck. It is what the truck had originally but the previous owner put on some custom hugh ones I do not like. If I put back on the factory power units and find the power adjusting does not work, can they be adjusted manually? Basically, will the power mirrors work as manual adjustable mirrors if the power portion does not work?
You can adjust the head manually in 2 directions but I would not push on the mirror glass as you are stripping out the screws that power the head.
You cannot open the mirror without removing the glass and most probably it will break.

Ok, I just want to make sure that I can still adequately adjust the mirrors manually should I have any electrical issues that I many need to correct down the road after putting them on. If I understand correctly, I will be able to manually compensate from where ever the last power adjustment may have been without push on or adjusting the mirror glass itself. In other words, left and right manually from the base swivel and then manually up and down via the post at mirror connection. No glass pushing around required, correct?
Yes move the head like you would any manual mirror, the electrical circuit is easy to duplicate with. Center off spring return DPDT switch.
You can get replacement mirror heads.
