engine pallet

I'm going to be picking up a 5.7L gasser engine for my boat later this month and wondering whether a standard engine pallet will fit between the wheel wells of my 1st gen. I'd rather not rent a trailer if possible.

I never heard of a standard sized pallet. One of the first things I noticed was that when stacking used pallets was there were always multiple sizes. This is when worked around a warehousing supply storage facility. When we ordered replacement pallets it was always by a specified size and material thicknesses. As stated above, it will fit provided it is no larger than 48" x 96" which fits our 8 foot beds. The most common widths were 42" The normal most common range was 36" to 48" wide.

are engines crated on standard pallets, or specialized (beefier) pallets that are narrower? obviously a fork lift has to be involved

I put a palletized 454 in the back of a Jeep Wrangler. I think your 350 will fit fine in your pick up.

A "standard" pallet is 42"x48". However, as stated there is rarely a "standard" pallet used. If they said standard pallet, then I'm sure that's what it is.
