Engine Miss?

After buying my truck, I noticed an unusual noise comming from the air box (I think). It almost sounds like an engine miss, or something. It sounds like air is backing up in the filter or something. I have not had the time to really look on it, but I was thinking maybe you guys could let me know something before I even started.

It seems as though the previous owner added a custom 3" exhaust and K&N filter. Another thing is, I really don't think that a valve adjustment has been done in the 185k miles and I was wondering if this could be something that might cause this.

Overall the engine runs pretty smooth considering it has been sitting pretty much for about 6 months. Infact, it actually fired up with barely a hit of the key.

Any toughts?

If your valves havent been ran in that long....I really wouldn't worry if they were making the noise or not, I would still check to see where the are set, and adjust if needed. You never know where someone might have them set.
