Eliminating heat exchanger

As yall know I switched auto to getrag last summer, and my heat exchanger is still on the truck. Can I eliminate this and just plug the holes without messing up the cooling system flow? Just wondering if the auto system requires the exchanger to work right. thanks.

Yup, remove all the plumbing associated with it and plug'em.
