Electrical problem (Lights)
I was driving the other day and the lights quit. Figured the headlight switch burnt out, so I replaced it and still nothing. The wiring and plug in the back was in good shape, not melted. Checked the dimmer switch and still nothing. This afternoon I did some checking. I have no power on the input side of these fuses:
7-Horns
8-Ext Lps
9-Stop Lps
14-I/PNL Lps
I have replaced all my fusible links with fuses and they are all good. I don't know where else to look.
Also, which may be related, with the headlight switch on, this little cylinder under the dash gets very warm. I don't know what it is and can't find anything on it in the wiring diagram in my Chilton's manual.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

If memory hasn't failed me completely, the little cylinder is the relay for the light in the ingnition switch. They get warm.
Check for voltage on both sides of the fire wall connection. They sometimes get corroded. What I usually do if one of the pins are bad is jump around the plug with that circuit by splicing in a longer wire.

When i bought my 91 none of the lights worked , and the owner they were working the day before. Turned out tobe a burned out head lite-- soon as i put in new head lite, wham! all the lites came on, been working ever since. Just one of those weird things.

Ok, finally got the truck in the shop to look at it tonight.
Replaced the 1 old headlight. Pulled the firewall connector off inside the engine compartment and have power at the Pink, Pink/Black, Red, & Black/Red wires. Haven't checked inside yet.
Taking a break for dinner and I'll go do some more checking. Does this sound alright so far? Or should I have power to more wires on the engine side?

Got everything working today and now I feel like a moron...
After tearing 1/2 the dash apart, busting the low vacuum sensor nipple off, and removing yards of electrical tape I came to find out that the spade terminal on my fuse block I added had jiggled loose.
Pulled it off, crimped it down a bit, added some dielectric grease, and everything's back up and running.
On the plus side, I did clean up the firewall connector, straighten my light switch ****, and cleaned up a mess of electrical tape.

Well, if you're going by age, I should probably be young dodge owner, since I'm only 26...hehe
I've only had the 1st gen for about 6 months and been working my way down the list of fixes in the sticky. Thanks to you middle aged fellers that've already been where I am.
Replaced all the fusible links with a fusebox, so I thought I was good to go on that side. Guess I need to check my work a little better next time...

I just picked up a "new" fuse box @ the U-Pull it junkyard, down in South Jersey. It was in primo shape compared to mine. Cost $10. Came with a new panel door, as mine was cracked. I just have to paint it to match.
Looking forwards to figuring out how to remove the terminals without damaging it, so that I can swap it out, wire by wire.
My fuse panel is partially melted due to the previous owner's & / or poor design. I have a few circuits bypassed with their own separated fuses, but I don't like the way it looks. The new panel will be less complicated, once I can find the time to put it in.
