EGT 1400 w/ valet ????

I installed my valet switch today and it does work. Heres my question with the switch off I will peg the 1600* guage with no problem and my boost is 36 with lots of smoke, with the switch in valet mode at WOT I am at 1400* 30lbs of boost and light smoke. Should I back off on the star wheel more will that help. I would like to have a max of 1200* EGT with the switch in valet mode. Does anyone have any suggestions. I would rather not detune the pump because I like the power I have.

Thanks Ryan

Where is your smoke screw set from stock? Backing that back out to stock or less then stock will help lots. You can try to adjust the star wheel up a few more turns and see how that works out.

Im not too informed on how the valet switch works cause I was never interested in it so I cant help ya out too much.

smoke screw is basically just there to plug the hole in the cover. its not touching the pin at all.

I think if you get that Gillett Stage III you will be where you want to be. Mine runs much cooler while cranked up.

I don't think that the starwheel adjustment will help at all with the valet switch working (you get no boost reference to the afc with it).

Get the stage 3 on there to build more efficient boost. An Intercooler would help alot as well but that takes time and $$.

Ryan, clean the ridge out of the inside of the AFC cover and grind down the top of the fuel pin to let it come up higher. Put fresh grease on the fuel pin and check the travel, you don't want the pin in the pump to catch in the groove on the AFC pin.
