EDM's in!
Pics of the valet setup:

With the ground AFC lever, the valet switch was not real effective at controlling low boost smoke. Now that I'm running an unground AFC lever, it's a more effective control. It will not exceed 1250 on straight diesel with the AFC fuel shut off. I could actually lend the truck to somebody without worrying that they'd melt the pistons, all I'd have to do is pull the fuse.

Just an update, I drove it some more this morning. Unfortunately the rain is back so I couldn't play.
EGT at idle is lower and falls faster. I was in traffic with the defroster going, with the POD's EGT would stay at 350 with the A/C compressor running. While sitting at a traffic light the EGT will drop below 300 under the same conditions now.
This makes me think my fuel economy is going to improve.
The next thing I want to try is turning the AFC cone to see if I can tune all the zero boost smoke out. I've been driving around like there's an egg between my foot and the accelerator for a year and a half and I'm getting tired of it. Now that I have more fuel than I can possibly use I want to try to clean up the low end some more.

Dredging this one up from the depths for an update.
Even with the stock AFC lever, the cone set on the shallow side, and the nut on top of the cone ground to get the fuel pin all the way down at the bottom, there is still a good puff of smoke on a normal upshift. I will have to turn the pump down some if I want to eliminate that completely. I may do that after I dyno the truck.
"City" fuel economy results are in. No change, still mid 14's. I'm not surprised, the holes in these things looked to be every bit as big as the holes in the POD's - and these have two more holes!

I'm over 20 on the highway at 65, best of 24mpg.
Dave, have they given you a guess on the price of a new set of these?
