Re:Dyno
When I went to Speedworks in Lewisville TX, they charged 60 for 3 runs. Most heavy equipment shops such as Cummins, CAT, Detriot, Peterbilt, Kenworth etc. have them.

Re:Dyno
Some shops, such as BD, have a free dyno day. Others have group discounts that usually cost about $40 or so. I have seen one as high as $95. Some shops charge more for a torque reading because of increased set-up time. I personally wouldn’t get just a hp reading. We got these engines for torque, right?
The two main types of dynamometers used are Mustang, which places a heavy load on the engine, and Dynojet, which is an accelerometer. The numbers seem vary slightly between the two, but both are accurate. It seems to be a mater of personal preference. Mike |
