Drivetrain issue
Restoring a 1990 w250, was a 727 but bought a getrag and swapped it in, put in new hydraulics, throw out bushing and rest, clutch looked good and is a factory clutch but doesn’t look very old, now onto the issue, put everything together and have the rear axle on jackstands to assemble it, finished it up and tested ebrake, everything is new, they work perfectly, hooked up the drive shaft and ran the transmission through all the gears and reverse and everything works nice but when the ebrake is engaged, can put the truck in any gear and let go of the clutch and truck will idle just as normal, any idea what this could be ? Thanks in advance!
So you're saying that while up on blocks and the e-brake engaged the truck will idle in any gear right?
Mines an automatic but my guess is that's just our crappy e-brake set up. Unless they are adjusted perfectly they don't do much. Frankly, I'd be worried if the e-brake did slip your clutch or choke down the mighty Cummins.
Am I missing something here?

Will the truck move if you put it on the ground? Maybe your clutch is shot or something isn't right with it. Not that many things it could be otherwise. Either clutch or transfer case.

What they said. Has to be the X-fer is in neutral or the clutch is shot OR...
This was an auto so that means the everything from the pedal to the tranny is a new swap. Is something not adjusted right so the clutch is not being completely released? Kinda like ridding the clutch with your foot but it's a mechanical adjustment somewhere?
