I there any difference in length between an auto driveshaft 4x4 and a 5 speed driveshaft 4x4?

 

Yes. The front shaft on a overdrive (518) is longer then a 5 speed and the rear shaft (518) is shorter then a 5 speed however I am almost positive the shafts from a 4wd 727 auto are the same as a 5 speed. Hope that helps.

 

as far as i know the getrag and the 727 are the same...no idea on the o/d trans

 

Would one from a gas motor work?

and does anybody know what the length on one is from 5 speed/727 truck?
