Drips Coolant at start up

Why whould my truck drip coolant at start up? It only does it when it is like 35 degrees or colder out. It will drip a 6-8 inch puddle and then stop as it warms up. Looks like it is comming from water pump but could it be head gasket? never seen anything like it

I've had cold weather leaks on mine like that but it always wound up being a hose clamp. Wouldn't think the engine would expand that much on warmup if it were a head gasket or waterpump

My 'little' leak was a coolent hose behind the alternator that you can't see.

I'm just guessing here, but maybe the waterpump has weepholes that are leaking?

I'd vote, a hose clamp...Mine did the same thing at one of the elbows at the trans heat exchanger... A quick weak of the clamps and no more leaks.
