downpipe routing
downpipe routing
Hi, I was looking at my parts truck that is striped down to the frame. I looks like if we were to route the downpipe to the outside of the frame, it would allow much more room, larger diameter pipe, and sweeping bends. Also, I could put another inside frame mounted fuel tank. Anyone tried this?
I went under the frame close to the end of the downhill portion - right alongside the engine adapter plate.
It's a bit of an angle you're looking at in the pic but clamp holding the 90 off the DP - behind the frame and higher than you can see - bumps the trans mount ears if I don't get it positioned correctly.
The setup lets me run my 5" exhaust - pic 2 - right behind my running boards up under the cab and bed. Keeps me from having to run the 5" under the frame and have it hang out vulnerable road debris and rocks - and allows me to cut across curbs easier
