Does 5.9 1992 diesel have liners in them like big trucks?????????
This guy has dodge he says he pulled the head and the cylinder is scored can it be over hauled by doing in frame or do you have to pull the engine and have bored???????????

no liners like richie said. however, i believe it can be bored out for a liner to go in place. personally, i wouldn't recommend a liner. the machine work would probably run you more than what you might pay for a used, in good shape block.

Why is/are the cylinder/s scored? I'd be trying to figure that out before I worried about what to do about it. As jimbo said, the cylinders can be rebored, but I can't recall what the maximum is. For some reason 0.030" rings a bell, but don't quote me on that.
