My buddy put the Eaton's in his Ford IDI Dually and loves them. No crunching noises on turns. It "locks" using a different method. Just food for thought.

I would look here:

http://4wdfactory.com/store/

For price I haven't really been able to find anywhere that's cheaper for most things they carry and they have a lot of stuff.

i'm looking into everything, i just wanted to see if anybody noticed anything that i noticed... Seems to be a bunch of fake or immitations running around being sold as the real thing.

So... are you thinking one is fake and one is real? Or are you asking if we see a difference?

I see difference right away at how they lock and engage. One has sharper "teeth" that engage, but claims smoothness. The other makes no claim to be smooth, but has a smoother "ripple" look to the "teeth". I'd give'em a call and ask.

EDIT: I take it back after looking at the LARGE image. The teeth both appear to be as sharp, but I see other differences in the middle casing.

One is a powertrax and one is a Lock-Right.

The lockright is based off the powertrax but the Powertrax is more oriented for the street i think. They're both made by Richmond though.

I'd want the Lock-Right though just because looking at the teeth i think it would lock better...

yeah, my thing was the one case looks cast and one looks machined. One has beveled edged, i think thats the powertrax. the other has shorter teeth and appear to be more square. Now i just need to find something a little bigger.

I vote Going with a detroit. Only thing I can say you need to learn how to drive the truck again. At the prices they are wanting for those, I'd rather spend a little more and get the full locker. But I am a little bias. Only thing I hate is backing a trailer while turning, but you get used to it.....I guess.

i thought the detroit didn't open easily? Wouldn't happen to have anything to do with the truck sliding or not turning when you want to?

The lock-right works great and its easy to install!! I love mine. It is a little rougher in wet weather and in turns but its held up great and it really doesnt make any more noise than any other suregrip

the noise isn't even a concern. Its a daily driver and driveability IS. I back down a 100 foot driveway that doglegs in the middle next to the porch, flower bed, and fence. No way will i weld it... this isn't a trail truck or full time track truck, but thanks for the opinion.
