Hey powerwagon440, maybe late one night, someone will lift your hood, and tinker a bit so you can hit the dyno yourownself.... remember, if it ain't broke, fix it till it is.... ;D

Re:Diesel Thunder

Since I installed the Banks charge air cooler I have a heck of a time getting to 1000 pre turbo.Even towing I have to really load her up to hit 1000 degrees. Pyro was about 950 during my run.

Re:Diesel Thunder

WOW: 950 degrees pre-turbo -- seems like you could run that hp all day. What rpms and what boost were you running when you made peak hp?

Seems like you have put together a pretty awesome truck for yourself Bob!

Re:Diesel Thunder

aslitich
HP peaked at 2450 and torque at 2350. The truck hit 3100 and I missed the peak boost. I'm sure I burried my boost gauge - it only goes up to 30 psi. It looks like I will have to get a new boost gauge. ;D ;D ;D Will it ever end - NOT. ;D ;D

Re:Diesel Thunder

Once again -- great job Bob. I bet you could out-pull a 318 Jimmy any day ;D!

It's incredible to get that kind of performance out of these engines.

Re:Diesel Thunder

Congrats again Bob on the good #'s

Your pyro #'s concern me. I believe you have a bad pyro. It would be great to have that low of #'s but your gauge/wires or prob is bad. As far as the banks intercooler making the difference! NOT.
We have installed a few banks coolers and have also heard from others with no change in temps.

Be carefull Bob, I don't want to see you damage your engine.

Think about this for a minute. Your making good power and your temps are low??? Even towing?? Your dyno temps don't scare me (dyno jet and short runs) its your towing and every day temps that are out of wack. How come every other truck making ok power is toasty?
I have experinced your temps with my truck and found it was a bad wiring harness to the prob. We have a meter to check the pyro's and wiring and in every case of low egt's we find a bad part.

Re:Diesel Thunder

Hi Mark
I guess that the best way to test my EGT guage is with an infared heat gun - do you have one up there that I could use when on the dyno?

The low temp numbers have bothered me but the truck has always run "sane" EGT's.

Re:Diesel Thunder

Hey Bob,
yes we do have a infared heat gun. Yes, We can hit it on the dyno. The most accurate would be our pyro meter. That way it tells you what piece is bad.

Re:Diesel Thunder

If we can on the 27th lets do what works best. The gun might give us a quick look at the accuracy of my pyro while the meter would pin point the the problem - if any. I'll talk it over with you when I get there.
