Did some work on a buddys truck today
Well after 8 months of screwing with a deadbeat painter my buddy finally got his truck back after we had a good friend paint it, Imagine that he had it done in about 2 weeks all while working like a dog for the railroad and keeping his junk on the road. The paint isn't perfect but it is a 20 footer(Hey its a work truck that gets used like a truck) The Dead beat painter painted the box.
Today we started the reassembly process and did some up grades while the truck is apart. Dan did the airbags while I installed the emblems and front fender flares and painted the headache rack we built a while back.
A couple before pics
These pics are about 2 years old.
A couple after
Heres some of what we did today.
Airbags installed
Emblems And a fresh coat of Krylon on the Headache rack

We also started doing a PS cooler install, We figured we'd better get this done now before the Framekiller 2000 X front bumper goes back on.
Couple pics of the IC install.
BTW this is the Framekiller 2000 X we built for it.

I think the paint looks good. We were standing outside today when someone walked by it, and the black looked blue, reflecting the color off their jeans.

I like that paint scheme, I need to get my truck painted someday but performance first then looks Those ps intercoolers are a nice upgrade and they fit pretty well considering and look cool behind the grille!

Looks great Andrew! You boys do some real nice work. The headache rack is cool with the Cummin's C on it, and that front fender sure looks like a frame killer! Very nice.

I need not explain that to you guys, unfortunately.
Speaking of flares...
How did they turn out?
Mark.

Scot, The 2nd gen coolers fit much better in a N/IC truck. Thats what I'm running. BTW how was the drive back? Uneventful hopefully. It was good to meet you.
Austin, Yes it fits pretty well, I know its a lot less fabwork than putting in a 2nd gen cooler in a 89/90 truck.
KD93, Thanks for the compliments, we do what we can
Mark, The flares turned out Good and fit like they should except for the one on the DF which I found out has an aftermarket fender, We'll get er to fit though.

Yeah that motor came out of Brians 72, I think he's had about 3 different motors in it since he quit pulling that truck last season. It now has a P-pumped 4bt in it.

Drive back went pretty well. Had some kid with a hot girlfriend pull up beside me and look at me like an A-hole in Lincoln. So I smoked his ase leaving the light. Well, it would have been better had I been in the left lane. Maybe I should have moved over ahead of him, the truck makes a nice black puff off the line if I drive it like a retard.
Fueled in York, put on 22 gallons. Got back to McCook about 11 with 5/8 tank left once it cooled off. Made pretty good time, ran the interstate back to Kearney, instead of dropping down to 6 at Aurora or York like I was thinking of doing.
Just missed the storm hitting Holdredge and Atlanta. Had some pretty good crosswinds hit me for about 10-15 miles there. Probably burnt an extra half gallon of fuel fighting them.
Glad I turned the trip instead of waiting and taking my time coming home. Tornado just passed about 5 miles north of here and more storms are coming.
