The only way to compare them is the cut profile. The cut depth, etc.
I noticed a much harder pulling truck when i went from stock pin(turned) to Denny t pin. I gotta adjust my starwheel back out some i think. It blows a black cloud now when i get on it hard preboost. Once the turbo spools, it cleans up good though, just a slight haze at WOT

Oklahomaboy798 somewhere on a thread there is a picture of several pins. I think but not sure but the DennyT pin was the most aggressive of them all. I have 2 of his pins and i'm more than please with the performance of them. Look back thru the threads maybe 2 or 3 months and find the pic and you will see what i'm talking about. Good luck.

I would say yes because the DennyT is made of hardened steel which won't gouge like the old smokey. You can't really get a deeper or more aggressive cut than a DennyT.

The original Ole smokey pin won't gouge, its the imitation BD knock off that does.

Denny's is more aggressive, but unless you're trying to get every drop of fuel from the pump then I don't think it would be worth the change, unless you just had a bill that was burning a hole. I would save it for some injectors.

I went from a ground pin that was supposedly a match of a smokey and switched to a DennyT stage 2 pin. It was a huge difference! Same experience as Jet said. Enough power that I'm about to swap back until I can replace my smoked clutch.

I would skip on the Valair. Haven't heard much good from my couple of buddies who tried them.

Did you gain much boost when switching from the stock pin?

So far I have loved mine. It holds a load very well, and engages fairly smooth. I don't remember which one but it was on the lower end of the scale, I think 350HP & 700ft. lb?

Whatever you do, don't buy a southbend con O.

you gotta give the ole smokey credit for being the first 40hp+ adding peice made for a first gen EVER, back in the day, that pin, a banks power pack, and bosch 190's and you had a good running truck i'd bet.

Also, always working offers 5 differnt machined pins, his m5 pin looks like a dennyT 2 pin,, but he has 4 other profiles as well that don't fuel as much until you floor it.

A buddy of mine tried a Valair in his truck and it lasted about 2 months. He went back with a South Bend. From my understanding Valair didn't want to hear about it only lasting a couple of months. BTW this truck is a puller up close to rbrettctd. This isn't the first time i've heard bad things from the Valair clutches, but to each his own. Good luck.
