death wooble

from past experiences can anyone tell me what the most common vause of death wooble mite be? it only occurs on brake applications and not always or at least usually not vary servere but something is not rite. I put dial indicator on both rotors got less than .005. tires are good looks like all tie rod etc are good.

Could be cracked frame at the steering box mounting plate also like mine. Shop welded plate but didn't notice frame crack as well. Back to shop.

I had it when braking and mostly when downhill. Replaced the springs and plastic cones on king pins and that solved it for me.

I agree.


Could be as simple as the plastic cones being cracked, or worn out. I have an extra set on the shelf just for that purpose.

i will check all ps frame bolts frame looks good but will clean and have a better look. maybe plastic cones.

Have someone crank the steering wheel left and right while you lay under the rig and look for play in steering parts would be my next move.

Taking safety steps like blocking the rear tires before laying under the rig is always a good call.

My son's 4x4 did that , and we couldn't find the problem. He put on new tires and balanced them. End of problem. Good Luck
