DDP 3 Injectors

So a friend of mine gave me a good deal on his DDP 3 1st gen injectors. I done some research on these, but really haven't found a lot of information on what size injectors they actually are. They were purchased 2 years ago, and have maybe a few hundred miles on them, so I jumped on them.

I'm looking at turbos at the moment, and trying to figure out what these injectors can fuel. I'd like to run a 62mm turbo, but just found a local deal on a BD killer B 63/68/14 I believe, but have no idea if the DDP 3s are even capable of fueling such a turbo

TruckYou 10-06-2016 02:55 PM

Telling us an exact year would be more helpful as the stock injector sizes and heads vary over the 1st gen years…. I assumed you had a 1st gen since that was the section you posted under.

the ddp3s flow 55lpm correct?

TruckYou 10-06-2016 03:40 PM

Its a 91 non ic 727 truck. I didn't think it was important since all I an asking it what the ddp3 injector's. The question isn't what you think of my turbo selection.

TruckYou 10-06-2016 03:59 PM

Thank you rick! 55lpm. Anyone know what that would be equivalent to, or close too? Like a 5x12?

TruckYou 10-06-2016 04:07 PM

I just found an injector sizing chart that had them listed. The III''s are 50lpm and the IV''s are 55lpm. Says the 4s are 5x.013. Don't know about the 3s

a DDP3 will spool and match quite nicely to an s362 or s363 like you're considering. Most people say a DDP will outperform another injector at the same flow rating. I'd say they're closer to a 5x13-5x14.

that 63/68/14 will be a bit laggy and slow to spool, but not because of the injectors. fairly large compressor and a 14cm exhaust housing will cause it to be a bit slow.

Depends on which DDP3's they are. since they don't make 4's anymore, the 3's are now rated at 55 LPM

also, DDP doesn't give a hole # and orifice size, so whatever chart you're looking at is no good. they have 4 and 5 hole injectors and won't give an orifice size because of the design of their injectors, orifice size wouldn't be an accurate description. That's why they use "1, 2, 3" and flow ratings to classify them.

Let's just hope you didn't get these injectors from DodgeFreak, as the DDP's he was selling for a deal are junk.

TruckYou 10-06-2016 08:20 PM

The chart I was referring to was something that someone shared on this forum. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...-chart-240746/

The injectors I have were no purchased from DodgeFreak. My friend purchased them directly through ddp.

I am glad to hear these injectors will pair nicely with a s362 / s363, as these 2 turbos have been my 1st pick consistently. I'm leaning more towards the s363 recently. The truck is just a play truck, just something I hotrod around in during the NON winter months, due to the salt on the roads here in NY. I saw someone referred to the Killer B Being laggy due to the 14cm housing, that wouldn't be an issue with a s363 with the t3 .82? from the research I have done, i was thinking a 14cm housing would be alright on an auto. The rule of thumb iv had stuck in my head was 12cm= manual transmission 14/16cm=auto

I have a T4 manifold in the garage I scooped up not long ago, so I could run a T4 turbo if there were any benefits to swapping over, at no cost.
I know this topic is about injectors, but I appreciate the help with turbo also

depending on when they were purchased from DDP, they could be 50 or 55 LPM. Not sure when they got rid of the DDP4, but when they did, they then made the DDP3 55 LPM.

some misunderstanding and bad info here. you want the .70 T3 housing(12cm) on an s362 or s363 or it will be laggy, even with an automatic. T4 will only make it worse. that "rule of thumb" you speak of is more for mild HP setups with say an HX-35.

our engines, especially with the VE pump, are designed for low RPM horsepower. that's why a larger and T4 housing that won't spool until 2000+ RPM makes your turbo about useless in street driving.

They switched the ddp4 55lpm injectors over to ddp3 55lpm not too long after I bought my set back in 2009 so it has been quite some time since that switch was made. I'll let the OP consider that in relation to when his friend bought them directly from DDP

An s362 is about as big as I would go with those injectors. In fact, an s362 is about as big as I would go for a single with a VE pump and like Justin said, the .7ar twin scroll wastegated housing is the one you will want. I don't care what anyone says, for a VE there is no need to run a bigger housing, or a bigger turbo. I've done it

The s362/68/.7 sx-e charger is a great turbo

An he351cw is also a decent, much cheaper option as well.

Way back in the day I went from 160ish hp to 231hp going from stock (91.5IC) injectors to the old ddp4 55lpm injectors, which is probably what you run. Yes they flow similar to 5x12s but they will run better and likely make a bit more power than 5x12s. I had a dennyt pin, stock auto, stock h1c/14cm housing and stock power screw at the time. Swapping on an he351 bumped me up to 248hp with no extra fuel
