dash board
I know its been asked before, but does anyone make an aftermarket dash peice for these trucks? i asked my dealer and they told me they have been discontinued but they used to cost $614.
What piece? The whole carrier? I have not been able to find the whole thing. I do remember finding some sort of a "cap" for the top of the dash. But seemed a little hookie for me. Of course a nice dash mat will cover good enough.
Yes you can unbolt the whole dash it has a row of screw's under the rubber windshield lip and then there are 2 1/2 in bolt's 1 on each side of dash and a few ground wires to pull if your's is cracked or beat up I would just find a good 1 from another truck and swap out the vin plate easy to do shouldn't take but a couple hour's to handle the only tricky part is the row of screw's at the top under the rubber you either have to cut around each screw or take a slice out of the rubber big enough to get them out .
I made a piece from a extra ballister from my deck. Its a 5/8 alumnium rod, cut on a angle and then sharpened. After you find the screw you just hammer the rod on the rubber over the screw and it cuts a neat plug right out then you can just glue it back into place when you are done

Not if you are just changing out the dash and you can show paper work from someone you bought the dash from Besides is there really a number on theses frames I took apart 4 81-93 dodge truck's and Never found a vin on any of the frames
Dash caps. If you have enough left to glue it onto.

Alaska State Trooper, AK DMV, and AK DOT will tell you different. Fortunately for me I hadn't changed it yet.
