Sounds like that'll be one bad a** 1st gen.
For the axle I wouldn't for see any huge problems on installing it the spring pads should be the right width apart. YOu'll need new ubolts and possibly top plates. With the disc brakes you may have a hard time getting your brake bias right.
By "wide trak" do you mean a dually axle?
Which P7100 pump did you get?

We had a wheel-bearing failure on a 90 dually and run off the right rear wheels/hub/etc.
The rear-end was pretty much history.
We were pulling a 28 x 8 stock-trailer fully loaded at the time.
We replaced the 70 with a 80 and found out that the wheels we had would not fit the 80.
We had to scavenge the junk yards to find 4 wheels off an 80.
Until then, I had always assumed the wheels were the same.

If memory serves me correct, the wheels wouldn,t clear the drums.
Both the 70 and 80 had drum brakes.
We had to hunt all over to find 4 wheels alike that came off of 80's.
At the time we did this swap, Dana 80 was not as common as now.
The 80 came out of a Dodge.
