Thanks for the pictures Dave

Your tool looks like a very simple fix to a messy job

I'm gonna fab one of those up and give it a try ... next time I'm inside my front hubs ... which will be in spring time when I address the kingpins

Thanks again... if I can figure out how to post the picture I'll do it but I never can post them as I use the mobile app for DTR

DeathRowDaves tool

This is a tool I made to grease the spindle bearings without removing the spindle . You simply screw this onto the spindle over the axle and use your grease gun to grease the spindle bearing . I made the tool from an old spindle nut , a black iron pipe nipple , a coupon from a hole saw 1/4 in plate and a grease fitting . It works great and saves a ton on time during maintenance . Thanks so much for posting , as I said I can fix , anytime except my stupidity , not being able to post . Thanks again and be safe , Dave

interesting, that is sort of what I had in my mind. Did you drill a relief hole in the seal or does it just press out?

I just grease until resistance is felt . I try not to bypass the seal, no relief hole . I always use moly grease to lube spindle and wheel bearings . Not sure if that is correct or what everyone else chooses to use , I picked this up from servicing my M35A2 years ago , Military Specs . It will not hurt anything if you do bypass the seal . You can tell by resistance on the grease gun when the spindle is nearing full . Works great . I built one for a Dana 44 and a Dana 60 . They are very rarely in my tool box , on loan to someone doing maintenance .
