D60 inner axle seals?

Are their inner axle shaft seals on either side of the carrier on our Dana/Spicer 60 front axles? I have not seen them on any parts break down and I have a leak.

Yes you do.

Putting them back in is fun also. I found the socket for the front wheel bearing nuts. The taper at the top of the socket for the drive fits the seal perfect. Just put an extension in from the open end of the socket and drive the seal in. Putting in the passenger side seal requires a 5' extension. My wheel bearing socket is a snap on.

You nailed it on the head. Axle shafts have to come out and the carrier. Make sure you stamp your bearing caps so they go back on the same.

Wait, why are there seals there? I thought the wheel bearings were lubed by gear oil from the differential? Or is that only for the DANA 70?

Never mind. After thinking on this some I reread the original post and realized this is on a front axle, not a rear. My bad.

Are those the seals that are 2 piece and spin inside one another?

Also, is that bell to guide the shafts in without messing up the seal?

That is a single piece seal.

I tried a pair of those two piece seals you see on ebay. Do not waste your money. The outside OD of those seals was larger than the ID of the axle tube. They wouldn't work and no chance of getting a refund. The clown wouldn't even return a PM. Plus ebay doesn't let you leave negative feed back anymore. So epray lost my business.

The bell is used to guide the axle shaft threw. The passenger side you can use a regular seal if your care full on install of the axle shaft. The drivers side needs that bell. Want to ask my how I know.
