cross over steering tie rod end
cross over steering tie rod end
Does anyone know what tie rod to use for cross over steering. I'm not giving some company $100 for a 25 dollar part because they put a kit together.
They all use different ends. My setup uses dodge ends. a 94 and an older one that I cant remember. You just gotta figure out the taper, or re-taper them yourself and buy whatever end you want. The taper bits are hard to come by and expensive, so that isnt usually the best option.

I'm running Chevy 1ton ends on mine 1984ish. My reason for no hiem is you can always find a Chevy tie rod end at any local parts store, Not the case with hiem joints, But that's just my backwoods thinking! Good luck on the build, it is well worth the time and effort for cross over.

So I went to NAPA to look at the OUTER tie rod ends from an 84 Chev 1 ton. I also brought along my SJ pitman arm. There is no way that an 84 Chev tie rod will fit into that pitman arm. Where do I go from here. Do I have to get the pitman arm bored out, am I looking at the wrong piece.
