I have a rolled 92 4x4 club cab that I got for really cheap and I wanna do something custom with it. I found a nice complete 85 crew cab truck for sale, but its 2wd so my only choice would be to swap and i'd prefer to not have that long of a wheel base anyways. So I was thinking about shortening the front of the bed down to fit the crew cab on the club cab frame but niether of the trucks are drivable so I cant compare them both in person. Obviously I have to make a couple new cab mounts but I need to know if the crew cab will clear the frame, fuel tank, ect without major mods or the use of a body lift.

Why not put the complete drive train of the 92 under the crew. Then you wont have to mess with the cab mounts or any bed mods.

 

unless you lift the body the tank will hit the cab like said above just swap the 4x stuff into the crew you will end up with a very nice truck

 

yes swap it all onto the crew cab frame way easyer less headake i just made my 2wd crew cab long box frame into a 4x4 take some measurements, drill some holes, bolt it togeather lol its as easy as it sounds lol
